The beginning (our first post)

OK, this is our first post on our own blog. We have really enjoyed reading other peoples blogs and have had request from family to do our own, so here we go. In my Patriarchal Blessing it says "You will have the ability to write the things that are in your mind and to present them so that they will be a benefit to those that read your words". I am not sure that this blog is what was intended by that blessing but this is what you are going to get for now.

Jen and I have four great kids that keep us very busy. Brienna is 10 and in 5th grade. She enjoys life, arts and dance. She loves Achievement Days and has a great testimony in Jesus Christ that she shares whenever their is an opportunity. Mac will be 8 on Dec 1st. He only slows down to sleep, that is to say if we make him slow down-he always falls asleep. We had a huge accomplishment when we went to HSM3...he stayed awake during a movie! I think it is because he was dancing most of the time though. He is an avid participator of sports and thrives off of competition. (He gets that trait from Jen) He is very, very helpful but he can be too helpful. Eh, whatta ya goin to do? Sydney is 4 and in her first year of Pre-school. She loves her teacher and the letters that she is learning. Right now she is a very easy child, I hate to jinx myself though. She played soccer this year and I coached it...I really had to dial down my expectations. Her favorite part of soccer was running on the field holding her friends hands and laughing. At least she had fun, I guess. Jack was born on October 16th 2008. He is now playing football and baseball, I think he must be gifted or something. The kids LOVE him and their has been no jealousy. Jen does a great job at making sure that everyone gets attention and that helps.

Jen and I have been married for 12 years. They have been great for me but you will have to ask Jen if they have been great for her. We lived in my parents apartment for three years, our Chatham house for a year (but owned for 8 years, ugh, at least that is over), my sisters James Ct home in Danville for three years (to help her sell it...you see that didn't help as much as we thought), and now in Utah for almost 5. If the math doesn't add up, remember that I graduated with a History degree from BYU. We love our home, neighbors, church and lifestyle here in Utah. I don't plan on moving unless someone offers me way too much money to transfer.
